YoYoFactory SuperNova Review

Just a Brief history of the YoYoFactory Supernova before we go into the specification.

The YoYoFactory Supernova yoyo started life as the SEVER3 and is Tyler Severance Signature YoYo, but as the products development strayed away from the Severe design, Ben McPhee and the team decided it needed a new name and a new direction! ANd BOOM !!! SuperNova Was born Tyler Severence's 3rd signature model.

From the Severe 2010 (67g version), the weight and width haven't budged, making this an appropriate successor to the Severe line. Yet, there is a major difference noticeable when you take a look at it from the side. The inside of the rim has been gouged out, and the entire body has been smoothed out, changing the distribution of weight for a better feel. The axle is no longer visible from the side, also giving it a new outer appearance.

Moreover, the body is constructed of 7075 Aluminum , increasing the stability even further from the already rock-solid Severe.

From the raised response area to the excellent balance, Supernova has taken all the good points of the Severe's design and developed it even further; they really didn't miss anything with the Supernova, and their careful design has yielded fantastic results. Up there with the SuperStar and Genesis, the Supernova is YoYoFactory's newest "sure thing."

The Supernova has been especially popular in YoYoFactory's lineup, and used widely at all levels of competition. In 2012, the Supernova has been "Re-Launched," moving its production from America to China. Aside from some very minor adjustments in weight, size and shape, the Supernova's basic specs remain unchanged.

Also, the Re-Launch version's body material has changed from 7075 Aluminium to 6061 Aluminium, maintaining a high quality, durable yo-yo with a lower price.

A little bit of the spec

Is UNRESPONSIVE at STOCK which is good. it play smooth and have a nice surface finishing too. But I prefer to use a Centre Track Bearing so swap the stock bearing out.

I have both version of the Supernova the 6061 and 7075 grade aluminium.
Personally, I prefer the 7075 Aluminium Supernova than the 6061 Aluminium Supernova 2012.
Or maybe is just me. Sooner or later this 7075 aluminium supernova will go exinct, so treasure it. Or buy it while you still have the chance.
